At SEWS-E we believe that technology is the engine of the future and the very source of business growth. From its origins as a copper business, our parent company Sumitomo Electric Industries has developed a wide range of technological bases. We aim to continue to create new technologies and products with due consideration to our customers future needs.

Sumitomo Electric has twice been awarded the prestigous Thomson Reuters Top 100 Global Innovators award, once in 2011 and again in 2013. This recognises the ability of Sumitomo group companies to create a working environment which both encourages and supports innovation, enabling its work force to turn good ideas into tangible assets.

Sumitomo Electric group continues to invest in research and development, with annual R&D investment increasing from €600M to €680M over the last 3 years.

SEWS-E continues to develop its operations in accordance with Sumitomo Electric group principles, “Attaching importance to technology” and “Building technical expertise, realising changes and striving for consistent growth”.
